Theresa Grill & Lounge - Steak and Peas à la Parisienne
“Not for vegetarians” - that might be the first thought when you catch sight of the glass-fronted aging cabinet filled with mouthwatering cuts of meat.
But that wouldn’t be quite fair to Theresa Grill.
Sure, we mostly come here when we’re craving a proper rib eye steak.
But some of our absolute highlights are the smaller plates - dishes so good, it feels wrong to call them “sides“ - grilled cauliflower with passion fruit, parsley and egg yolk
or spinach with caramelized cream and crispy fried onions
or our all-time favorite - sweet peas à la Parisienne with butter lettuce and breadcrumbs.
From the beechwood grill, there’s also a superb grilled octopus with mandarin bbq sauce.
And if we’re in the mood for something from the sea, the oysters with rhubarb granita and horseradish are an absolute must.
Interior designer Stephanie Thatenhorst had already created what was (sadly now closed) Munich’s most beautiful bar - Theresa Bar.
Her signature style shines through once more at Theresa Grill.
The lounge, furnished in la Mid-Century living room look, is ridiculously cozy - just the spot for a glass of wine and maybe a steak tartare or roasted marrow bone with hand-cut fries.
The long dining room with its bright industrial flair has large tables, made for evenings with friends.
The big cuts of meat, juicy as they are, really do call for a hungry group.
For quieter moments, there are intimate corners with classic Viennese wooden chairs - perfect for a date night or for watching the action at the bar or in the semi-open kitchen.
And as if all that weren’t enough, there’s even a private dining room with its own bowling lane tucked away downstairs.
A stylish space, fabulous food and a sharp, easygoing team - honestly, that’s all we need to keep coming back again and again.
