Juno the Bakery - Our Absolute Favorite Bakery

I know people who have a coffee table book filled with photos of puppies.

On particularly dreary days, they flip through the pictures of fluffy bundles with big eyes and floppy ears to lift their spirits.

For me, my mood brightens instantly when I look at Juno the Bakery's Instagram.

I immediately feel the anticipation that comes with patiently waiting in line in Juno's front yard.

Crowded outdoor area with guests behind a green wooden fence, a bike in front, people sitting and standing under lush plants.

The joy I feel while stuffing a much-too-large bag with appetizing pastries is almost tangible.

I can almost taste the vanilla custard in the yeast bun, and just like that, my spirits are lifted.

Sometimes the longing becomes so strong that we end up planning our next trip to Copenhagen right away.

The fact that there's almost always at least a small queue in front of the Swedish Emil Glaser's bakery is a clear sign of the quality that awaits us inside.

And indeed, there's hardly any line we prefer standing in more than the one in front of Juno the Bakery.

Guests seated in the bakery's green front garden at tables beneath trees, with a street sign reading “Løgstørgade” clearly visible.

The few seats in the charming front garden are just as popular, and while waiting, we can catch a glimpse of caramelized blueberry brioche, orange praline croissants, lemon cream donuts or cinnamon apple turnovers being enjoyed by those who arrived earlier than us.

No need to get anxious, as Juno bakes fresh all day, ensuring that a warm cardamom bun fresh out of the oven is guaranteed.

When we finally reach the counter, after eagerly peering into the glass-fronted baking area, we find ourselves in a pastry paradise, forgetting every good resolution to eat less sugar.

But Juno also offers the world's best bread, and we can never decide on just one. We often leave with buttery white bread, a fragrant sourdough loaf and a moist multigrain bread all at once.

We dare say that Juno is simply our absolute favorite bakery.
