Nyhavn 40 - Danish ice cream at the colorful harbor
Even in Copenhagen, summer days can be sunny and hot.
While the abundant waterways invite refreshing dips, cooling down from the inside with delicious ice cream is always a good idea.
Sea buckthorn or elderflower sorbet, licorice ice cream or salted caramel, honey nougat or chocolate ice cream – all these flavors more than fulfill their cooling purpose at Nyhavn 40.
Personally, I have a secret weakness for soft serve ice cream.
If you're turning up your nose, you might have had too many overly sweet, mushy or icy versions.
Finding the soft serve at Nyhavn 40 makes the search worthwhile, despite previous disappointments.
Made from delicious Bourbon vanilla ice cream by Danish ice cream maker Kastbergs, it’s creamy and delectable in a crispy butter waffle.
The other ice cream flavors, served as traditional scoops in a waffle cone, are equally impressive!
Rum raisin ice cream and rhubarb sorbet have become our favorite flavors.
You can clearly taste that Joachim Kastberg puts passion into his product, using high-quality local ingredients.
What could be better than dangling your legs over the harbor edge, savoring ice cream and enjoying the bustling scene of Copenhagen’s famous cityscape?
The colourful houses and swaying boats make for such a lovely view.
But don’t get too distracted - keep an eye out for the discreet entrance to Nyhavn 40, just a few steps below street level!
