Aimy - Southeast Asia at Wittelsbacher Platz

Multiple red hanging lantern-style lights with geometric shapes, clustered beneath a round ceiling in the interior of an Asian restaurant.

Tucked away in the light-filled courtyard of the elegant Gampenrieder Palais,

Aimy offers a hidden retreat where we sit outdoors in summer, enjoying imaginative cocktails and dumplings.

In winter, we cozy up in plush chairs under the warm red-gold lighting, savoring spicy green curry or glazed beef with sweet chili jam.

Viet Hai Pham und sein Team legen allerhöchsten Wert auf beste Zutaten.

Viet Hai Pham and his team are devoted to using the finest ingredients, crafting a remarkable fusion of traditional Thai dishes blended with Vietnamese, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, and even Western influences - a combination that never fails to delight.

Aimy is undeniably one of Munich’s more elegant dining spots.

A visit here gives us the perfect excuse to dress up a bit and bring out those special shoes.

While this might suggest an intimidating or overly chic atmosphere, in reality, Aimy is warm and inviting, with a friendly, down-to-earth team.

Dessert served in a hollowed-out coconut shell with coconut cream, mango, sticky rice, roasted nuts, coconut chips, edible flower and two green leaves for garnish.

From the welcome to the dessert (the sticky rice with mango is divine), everyone here is graciously attentive and genuinely kind.

This is perhaps why Aimy is our go-to for a range of occasions, whether we’re with parents, colleagues, a big group of friends, or just the two of us.

Everyone feels instantly comfortable, and there’s something to suit every taste.

Those who prefer mild dishes might enjoy the chicken tamarind, while the beef kee mao with eggplant and chili brings the heat.

Fish lovers will be thrilled by the grilled octopus or the glazed black cod or the Tuna Tacos.

For vegetarian options, roasted cauliflower or fried rice with pineapple and cashews are delicious, as are the papaya salad and dumplings with grilled spinach - favorites for all, not just vegetarians.

One word of advice: take care with the Mai Tais! They go down as smoothly as juice but pack a serious punch.

So far, we’ve always managed to find our way out of this Asian oasis - and just as often, we find our way right back in.
