Blumen die Leben - floral magic and vintage charm

Outside the Munich flower shop “Blumen die Leben,” autumnal arrangements and plants are displayed on tables and in the window. A striped awning shades the open, red-lit entrance.

By late May, when the scent of peonies and lilacs fills the air, when lilies of the valley and columbines are in bloom, while carnations and mallows unfold their pastel petals, the little flower shop overflows with beauty.

White peonies and greenish-white lisianthus flowers are closely arranged at the flower shop Die Leben in Munich.

No one knows better than the florists here how to tame this floral abundance into small and great bouquets.

Their creative presentations never cease to amaze - violets arranged in an old coffee cup, dried flowers in a vintage suitcase, pussy willows in an ostrich egg, chestnuts in a pot made of ceramic acorns…

A turquoise wooden table in front of Die Leben displays dried chestnuts, potted autumn flowers, and decorative vessels made of glossy brown shells.

The quality of the flowers is so exceptional that they last for a good while, giving us maximum joy.

Founded in 1993 by Silke von Otto, “Blumen die leben” has become a staple in Haidhausen.

Susanne Siglow, who has been part of the shop since almost the beginning, now manages this little jewel box at Max-Weber-Platz.

At “Blumen die Leben” in Munich, autumnal flowers and berry branches fill glass vases on a wooden table. Various shades of red dominate the colorful floral arrangement on display.

“Flowers… the wealth of colors and textures, and above all, experiencing the seasons, that’s what inspires us.”, she says.

The team at this small flower shop excels at bringing enchanting ideas to life, especially during the changing seasons, brightening even the greyest days.

At Die Leben shop, a potted plant sits on a table beside a Marshall speaker and a rack filled with colourful greeting cards against a pink wall.

While rare treasures may occasionally come from distant lands and Mediterranean blooms from Italy, the shop primarily sources fresh flowers from regional gardeners.

Naturally, there are times of the year when the full glory of blooms isn’t available, such as in May and June.

In autumn, apples and berries, herbs or grasses are woven into the bouquets.

In front of “Blumen die Leben” in Munich, colorful autumn bouquets and berry branches are displayed on a green wooden table. More floral arrangements are visible through the window.

In winter, moss, lichen, pine cones and nuts take center stage.

Outside Blumen die leben shop, Christmas wreaths, red candles, potted plants and fir branches are displayed on wooden tables, framed by fairy lights and winter greenery.

And in spring, a single cherry blossom branch becomes a work of art.

Year-round, you’ll also find a carefully curated selection of vases, bowls, pots, vintage finds, candles and even a small stationery corner.

There isn’t a month that goes by when we don’t find something at “Blumen die leben” to add a touch of floral beauty to our home.
