Gasoline Grill - juicy, fresh organic Burgers

Gasoline Grill in Copenhagen is located in a repurposed gas station with green neon signage. Guests line up at the counter; the burger menu and signage are clearly visible.

Gasoline Grill has nine locations across Copenhagen.

While we love enjoying their juicy burgers at the stand in Broens Gadekøkken, it’s comforting to know that spontaneous burger cravings can be satisfied at any of their well-distributed spots throughout the city.

Klaus Wittrup started out with with a similar appetite for a really good burger.

He opened his very first burger joint in the ultra-cool Landgreven location, inside a former gas station.

Gasoline Grill was born.

At 16, during a high school exchange in the US, he’d tasted the best burger of his life at a roadside diner.

Back in Denmark, he went on a mission to find that same flavour or at least something close. But after working his way through the country’s burger scene without success, the only answer left was to make it himself.

And for that, we’re truly grateful.

“Open every day from 11.00 until sold out”

The opening hours hint at the freshness and care put into every burger.

Everything is made to order, ensuring nothing goes to waste. This approach is not only sustainable but also mindful - eating meat should be done with the utmost consideration.

The green stall of Gasoline Grill at Broens Street Food Market in Copenhagen serves cheeseburgers, milkshakes, and frozen lemonade.

Every morning, selected cuts of organic beef are freshly ground at each location, with quantities carefully limited to avoid leftovers.

From the potato bun, cheddar cheese and pickles to the vegetables in the vegetarian burger and the crinkle-cut fries, everything comes from organic production.

The same goes for the delicious, creamy milkshakes and homemade lemonades.

Our favorite from the four burgers on Gasoline Grill’s menu is the cheeseburger, where the meat and cheese melt perfectly with the Gasoline sauce, sweet onions and pickles.

Just writing about it makes me crave one – I think it’s time for another visit!
